Target group; for anyone with an interest in nature and her wildlife, as well as amateur and professional photographers.
What; the hide-out (observation hut) is located in the wilderness of the Ragunda Valley and is owned by our business partner, Andreas Göransson of Wildlife Experience. The hide-out is equipped for two peoples, offers all around wide windows for the best view, including a bunk bed with a sleeping bag and pillow, chairs, a wood stove and an outside toilet. There is a telephone range but moderate. For the photographers among you, the hide-out provides camera camouflage outputs!
Which; the animals that live here: with in particular the Scandinavian brown bear, lapland owl, wolverine, eagle, marten, hawk, capercaillie, badger, crane bird, the moose, deer, red deer, fox, raven, black grouse and sporadic the wolf.
Who; your guide is Monique Vermeer and she welcomes and informs you, she drives you and guides you to the hide-out.
Time; we welcome you at 5 pm in our Cozy Cabin, at the location Wilderness Adventures Sweden.
Adventure; while enjoying a Swedish fika (coffee moment), Monique explains your overnight stay in the hide-out. There is an introduction video about the Scandinavian brown bear. After that Monique drives you to the area where the hide-out is located (40 minutes). We park nearby and during a short hike to the hide-out, Monique will show you also the winter stay of a bear, called a den. Further instructions follow at the hide-out. Monique leaves and now you’re on your own you from 7:00 pm until 9:30 in the morning.
The next morning Monique will pick you up at 9.30 and drive you back to Wilderness Adventures Sweden. A breakfast is served there. If you need to close your eyes for a few hours, we offer this possibility, but in consultation.
When; from mid-May to mid-August. These are the longest days in terms of daylight. So therefore you have the best view to observe and photograph wildlife. There is almost 24 hours of daylight at the end of May and through out June!
How; bookings are by reservation. Make your reservation at least 2 weeks in advance to be sure you won’t miss your adventure. We ask for a deposit of 25% and the remainder can be paid once you are here. For reservations you can fill in the contact form. We try to answer you within 24 hours.
Pay attention; Participation in this activity is entirely at your own risk. We assume no liability for any incidents, damage in any form what so ever.
We cannot give a 100% guarantee that you will spot bears or wildlife in general. However we have feeding areas for bears and other animals close to the hide-out. There are bears and wildlilfe on a regularly basis spotted, as well as in the surrounding area around the lake. Bears can be appearing in a range of zero till 200 meters around the hide-out.
Take; bring your own food and drinks and put all this in plastic boxes (the less cracking materials the better). In consultation, this can also be arranged by us. Also take along enough warm clothing, binoculars, camera, (charged) telephone, flashlight.
The Scandinavian bear is very shy and therefore do not use perfume or other strong-smelling liquids. Talk and act softly while keeping watch! Don’t put any food or leftovers outside the hide-out.
* The Bear & Wildlife Adventure costs 2,500 Swedish crowns per person. (around 225 euros)
This includes; your guide, your welcome with coffee and explanation in our cabin, transfer to your destination, the guided hike and instructions, your stay in the hide-out, your morning transfer back to Wilderness Adventures Sweden and you will be served a hearty breakfast*
Are you on your own and you do not wish to share the hide-out with a second person? Then book the hide-out just for yourself and your personal adventure will cost you 5.000 kr.
