Welcome to Wilderness Adventures Sweden in the beautiful Ragunda Valley in Jämtlands Län. In Summer we have 22 hours of sunshine per day and the sun never sets! The rugged nature with rocky hills, rivers, creeks and lakes makes this the ultimate wilderness to enjoy. At Wilderness Adventures Sweden, adventure awaits you and with a warm and cozy private accommodation as your home base.
THIS WEEK INCLUDES:
- 5 nights in the wildlife themed holiday apartment
- 2 nights in a historical lakeside stuga.
- Boats including fuel.
- Fishing licenses.
- 2 x transfer to and from the 2-day trip to the fishing lake.
- Moose safari tour in the evening.
- Dinner with Outdoor cooking activity.
- Bed linen package, towel package, WiFi and final cleaning of the accommodation.
There are several villages in the area where you can find a supermarket, petrol station and some dining options.
Your Adventure Week
Day 1-Saturday
Arrival
At the end of the afternoon, you arrive at Wilderness Adventures Sweden in Sörböle, Bispgården. You will be welcomed by Monique Vermeer; your hostess, guide and organizer of this week. When arrival there is fika = (typical Swedish coffee/ tea moment and some bakery).
For the evening it is settling down in your cozy holiday apartment (in wildlife theme) where you will be staying this week.
Day 2-Sunday
Fishing the Indalsälven river
There is great pike fishing and on other whitefish species. You will fish with a motorboat (2 pers) on our beautiful river Indalsälven. We will reserve this for you. You travel with your own (rental) car.
Day 3-Monday
Fly fishing at a Fiskekamp
You will fish for grayling and trout in the actively flowing Ammerån River. This pristine river originates in Norway and flows into our river Indalsälven half a hour from the Ranch. The Ammerån River is famed by fly fishing enthusiasts in Sweden. You travel with your own (rental) car.
A fly fishing course and/or fishing with a private guide are possibilities to book and we arrange this for you through the owners of the Fiskekamp. This is at additional charge. Fly fishing equipment can be rented on site if needed.
Day 4-Tuesday
Fishing on a beautiful lake
Perch and pike fishing on a beautiful lake with a rowing boat. Beautiful location with a drive through the forest and a short walk to it. You travel with your own (rental) car.
Moose safari tour
In the evening a Moose safari tour with a 4×4 car with Monique as your guide. Followed by a “drop off” at your fishing location for the next 2 days. Overnight stay in a historical lakeside stuga. Transfers included.
Day 5-Wednesday and day 6-Thursday
A 2 day fish adventure in the wilderness
Fishing is on 2 noble fish species of our cold waters; the Röding (Artic char) and Öring (brown trout). These fish are provided and maintained here by our local fishing association FVO. Röding can be caught up to even 5 kilos and more.
You fish from a rowing boat. The location is remote = secluded and you are literally in the wilderness.
The overnight stays are in a historic lakeside stuga. With sleeping places, fully equipped kitchen and outdoor toilet. Also BBQ place and a sauna available. At the lake is also a covered wind shelter with a campfire-grilling area.
Thursday evening is the pick-up by Monique and return to Wilderness Adventures Sweden where you spend the night.
Day 7-Friday
Fishing along the Indalsälven river
In the near surroundings of the ranch. You travel with your own (rental) car.
In the evening Outdoor Cooking at the Big Moose Grillhut
At the old western style Big Moose Grillhut we prepare and we eat together a meal with moose meat from our own hunt. We cook in a Dutch Oven on a tripod above the wood fire. There is also the opportunity for western games such as airgun shooting, lassoing and horseshoe tossing. Enjoy around the campfire with an evaluation of your vacation week.
Day 8-Saturday
Farewell and return trip.

The Wildlife themed holiday apartment
This cozy holiday apartment features various “Sami” and wildlife decorations and is located across the entire top floor of the typical Swedish homestead of “Wilderness Adventures Sweden”. With a large private roof terrace where you can enjoy the view over the Ranch with horses, the valley and the beautiful evergreen hills straight up into the wilderness. Also, a perfect place to watch the Northern Lights, there’s no sounds of traffic, no light and air pollution. We drink and shower with our own pure spring water from the hills and there is a wood-fired heater throughout the house.
This fully furnished holiday apartment includes a kitchen, separate toilet with sink, shower room with sink and accommodates up to 4 people. There is a king size bed with quality mattresses in the main room as well as an inviting lounge area and dining area, there is a 160 x 200 bed with quality mattresses in the additional room with sitting-dining area with a nice view at frontside of the property.

Moose and deer can be spotted all around the area and even from the holiday apartment. We have a mineral stone set up behind the creek near the Ranch. Moose but also deer and roe deer love the mineral salt in the winter, it gives them extra energy and stimulates the moisture balance.

- We recommend travel and cancellation insurance.
If you come with your own transport, there is also the possibility of camping at our RV Ground. This will reduce this fishing package price.
Fly fishing on day 3 is an option. If you are not interested in this, we can change it so you will go fishing on another location with regular fishing gear.
We can arrange your fishing gear and there are multiple tackle shops in the area.
